Kalye Musika by Los Indios Bravos

Los Indios Bravos is a politically driven, new school hip hop act that, quite frankly, got me to evaluate everything I’ve ever felt about hip hop. I’ve never been a fan of the music, the closest I got to hip hop appreciation was listening to Perf De Castro play on Francis M’s albums. 
But these guys, well, they’re actually relevant, and their rhymes actually make sense. None of that shallow, sexually-charged drivel often associated with the genre. Instead, it is a celebration of Pinoy culture (see Buhay Probinsya) and socially conscious observations (see Anong nangyari sa Pinas).
The PHP 100 album contains 19 tracks (the first and last tracks being intro and outro, less than a minute pieces) - a bargain by any stretch of imagination. It’s an independently produced hip-hop opus that is well worth the opus; take it from a die-hard metal head, if I can get into it, you can too. Grab a copy, you won’t regret it. Interesting, I’ll grab a copy this week. It’s about time my ears were treated to a different perspective on Filipino-music, I’m getting tired of Kami nAPO naman.

I heard all of their songs they are really awesome. Especially buhay probinsya. I strongly recommend to you guys that you should grab a copy. I’m sure this bans will get famous! GOOD LUCK TO YOU GUYS!

Thanks for sharing this with us. It’s great to hear na meron pa palang mga young hiphop bands nowadays who actually care about their experience at hindi self-centered and self-indulgent like most musicians.
kaya naman kasi napakababaw ng songwriting ng ibang mga hip hop “artists” dahil very limited ang experience nila, or worse, they’re apathetic. It takes experience, intelligence and sensitivity para makagawa ka ng kanta. Most musicians nowadays are intelligent naman but they lack the sensitivity to be able to understand or respond to their environment.
