The Chongkeys WBOB

August 13th, 2007

The Chongkeys — easily one of my most favorite bands on the planet — are competing in NU107 and Pulp Magazine’s World Battle of the Bands, and if ever there’s a worthwhile thing to spend your load on ladies and gents, well, this is it. The Chongkeys, with Benjie on vocals, Yohan on guitars, Pepito on bass and Mark on drums, is energy personified. Don’t take my word for it, catch them (with us, FMD) this coming Friday, August 17 at Purple Haze bar in Morato and see for yourself. I ain’t joshin’ when I say that this band flat-out rocks, no ifs, no buts, and if anybody out there deserves to make it, it’s them.

So, come 4:20 pm get your cell phones and type: NUVOTE WBOB CHONG and send it to 29107 (for all networks).

Visit their Multiply and tell them I sent you ;) Or check out a sampler of their fine, fine music:

I remember seeing Anne Curtis once, at the set of Nuts Entertainment when she was with GMA 7. There was another time my friends and I saw Christine Jaca - though I can’t for the life of me recognize her - and there was another time I saw Arnold Clavio in Megamall. Nancy Castiliogne and […]

Mang-aawit ng Kanyang Panahon - Heber Bartolome

Heber Bartolome is the voice and soul behind legendary protest folk-rock band Banyuhay, who gained immortality with the unforgettable phrase: “Tayo’y mga Pinoy, tayo’y hindi kano, wag kang mahihiya, kung ang ilong mo ay pango.” He sang songs of protest, but never angrily. He is punk without the whine of self-pity. Hardcore without the idiocy […]
